hello, i am kai sterk, a 19-year-old photographer from michigan currently residing in central florida. growing up, i was always drawn to the sights and sounds of the outdoors. birds have interested me my whole life, but in the fall of 2022 is when i discovered birdwatching as a hobby. this quickly transformed into an incredibly deep passion that fuels my daily life, and photographing these special moments i get to encounter in nature with a camera has been incredibly rewarding for me.
my love for birds has only grown over time, even through my life taking me across the country. i find joy in preserving the moments i get to experience, whether it be a quiet morning with warblers, trudging through the sand for shorebirds, or braving the night for owls.
photography has quickly become one of my biggest passions, but unfortunately, i don't even have a camera of my own - i've been borrowing my boyfriend's to capture these moments. by selling prints of my work, i hope to save up for my own camera so i can continue exploring and improving as a photographer. every print purchased gets me one step closer towards that goal, and i am so grateful for any support.
